Student Visa USA

Each year tens of thousands of people around the world visit the USA to take advantage of its history, culture and amazing resources. Some do short courses of less than 18 hours per week, all of which is done legally via their US visas. But if the course of study you would like to do is more than 18 hours each week then you’ll need a US student visa.

Benefits of a Student Visa USA

US study permits are non-immigrant visas and do not lead to a Permanent Resident Cards for lawful permanent residence to work in the USA (otherwise known as a US Green Card). However, there are many benefits for those wishing to study in USA.

For an academic student, F1 visas allow candidates to work in the USA during their course providing the work is on campus. In cases where unexpected events lead to hardship, off-campus work may also be permitted, but this is very rare.

Meanwhile, both M1 Vocational and F1 Academic Student Visas USA allow candidates to freely enter and depart the United States throughout the duration of their grant. Also, dependents may enter the country with the visa-holder and stay in the US throughout their course of study.

Eligibility

The USA student visa application is just one aspect of applying to learn in the US. Candidates must also be accepted for a full-time course by an institution approved by the USCIS; have enough understanding of the English language to fulfil the course; have enough funds to last for at least 12 months of study (and further); and most importantly, expect to return to their country of residence at the end of the degree or course.

It will be necessary to provide other documents along with the application to prove you are eligible. These include a valid passport that extends past the date that the course is expected to finish; a photograph with the correct specifications, and an affidavit of financial support.
