Visa UK are separated into five ‘tiers’, each with a specific purpose.
Types of UK visas
Tier 1 Visa UK
This UK visa is only available for highly skilled migrants. In order to qualify, applicants must score a certain number of points, based on their education, experience and knowledge.
Tier 2 Visa UK
Aimed for medium – and highly-skilled workers who are interested in a visa for the UK, Tier 2 working visas demand applicants to have an official employment offer with a UK company as well as enough points.
Tier 3 Visa UK
At present, Tier 3 is suspended by the UK Government. It was initially created for low-skilled workers who wanted to come to the UK. But it has never been used by the UK Government due to the strong supply of labour from Europe.
Tier 4 Visa UK
The Tier 4 visa is for students who want to study in England on a UK student visa. Visa applicants must be sponsored by a university or equivalent institution and the length of time is determined by however long the course runs for.
Tier 5 Visa UK
This visa is designed to let short-term workers and people aged between 18-30 enter the UK on a cheap temporary visa for a working holiday.
